Will Smith And Jared Leto Confirmed As Iconic DC Comics Vilians In Warner Bros’ “Suicide Squad” Film

Deadshot & The Joker Via DC Entertainment

Earlier today we published an article reporting that Academy Award winning actor, and Thirty Seconds To Mars front-man, Jared Leto was in final negotiations with DC Entertainment/Warner Bros to play The Joker in their 2016 film, Suicide Squad. Now we are thrilled to report that the rumors are 100% true! Multiple sources are now confirming that Leto is in fact officially cast as the Joker in the 2016 follow up to the upcoming, Batman VS Superman: Dawn Of Justice. Joining him in the cast is another musician turned actor who has been rumored to be associated with the project for a long time as well. Grammy Award winning rapper, and Academy Award nominated actor, Will Smith was also confirmed to be playing the huge role of Batman villain, Floyd Lawton, a..k.a. “Deadshot.” There is a good chance that we will get to see Leto and Smith throw down too, their characters famously feud with one another in the comic books story line when they get caught up in a love triangle with The Joker’s on again, off again girlfriend, Harley Quinn.  This story line also played out in the direct to video 2014 animated film based on the Suicide Squad, Batman: Assault On Arkham. (Spoilers! See Deadshot VS The Joker clip below!)
