Breaking News

Yesterday, multi-platinum singer/songwriter Shawn Mendes released the latest visual from his eagerly awaited sophomore album Illuminate (available September 23rd via Island Records) with the video for “Mercy.” The video is directed by Jay Martin (“Stitches”) and was filmed in Toronto. Watch “Mercy” above.

“Mercy” is the second single from Illuminate, following Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 platinum single “Treat You Better.” In advance of album release today, Shawn has also released the bluesy “Ruin,” John Mayer-inspired “Three Empty Words” and soulful “Don’t Be A Fool.” All 5 tracks were made available instantly upon pre-ordering the album (see full track listing below).

In anticipation of album release, fans can enjoy special Illuminate Experiences across North America this week. “Illuminate Pop Up Shops and Listening Events” will be held in New York, Los Angeles and Toronto, where fans will get the chance to hear the album in its entirety before it’s released and purchase merchandise created exclusively for these events.  There will be an additional 5 “Illuminate Listening Events” in theaters in Chicago, Dallas, Miami, Philadelphia and San Francisco. Details can be seen via

Shawn is making the rounds on  both The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (September 22nd) and The TODAY Show (September 23rd).  He will continue to celebrate the release of Illuminate with performances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show (September 27th), The Late Late Show with James Corden (September 28th) and The Talk (September 30th).

Having recently completed his sold-out Shawn Mendes World Tour and one-night-only Illuminate Live Concert & Album Event at Madison Square Garden, Shawn will kick off his first-ever headlining arena world tour in support of Illuminate in 2017.  The tour will kick off in the U.K. next April 27th and will run through August 23rd in Boston, MA (see full list of dates below).  Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased via
