Walt Disney Records Releases info on Cars 2 Soundtrack

Walt Disney Records recently announced several details about the music for the up coming Disney/Pixar sequel Cars 2.  The album features 21 tracks of an original score from Michael Giacchino, who has made his mark on other Disney films like The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Up, Muppet Wizard Of Oz,  JJ Abrams’ Star Trek and many other cool films.   Giacchino’s score is accompanied by a handful of fun performances from industry stars that make up much of the soundtrack’s key sound.  Alt Rockers Weezer starts the album off performing their own version of 1984  hit  “You Might Think” o originallu performed by The Cars.. Brad Paisley returns after contributing to the first movie’s soundtrack with “Behind The Clouds”  This time Brad  lends his talents to 2 tracks.  One called “Nobody’s Fool” and the other an  aproprately titled “Collision of Worlds” duetted with British Rocker Robbie Williams.  French performer Bénabar takes contributes a remake his pop hit, “Mon Coeur Fait Vroom (My Heart Goes boom)”, only this time it was retooled for the the theme of the movie and renamed “Mon Coeur Fait Vroom (My Heart Goes vroom).”

You may remember Disney deciding to go Country for the first Cars soundtrack with Rascal Flatts’ cover of the 1992 Tom Cochrane hit “Life is A High Wa.y” The made the song aa pop hit  for the group, and helped set the tone of the movie.   So, so far covers is something that seems to be working fir this franchise.  Check out the offical track listings as provided to the press by Walt Disney Records,.
