“Kelly’s voice is her trump card. She sounds angelic and approachable all at once. It’s what caused vocal masters Legend and Smith to rhapsodize about her, a supernaturally sweet yet somehow down-to-earth songbird call that moves like a liquid and hits like a solid,” said Stereogum. “Tori Kelly is a name you need to know. The singer, who’s amassed well over a million YouTube followers, is well on her way to becoming a pop icon,” noted SELF.com.
Born and raised in Temecula, California, Kelly got her start by making songs in her bedroom and posting them online. She first rose to attention when her cover of Frank Ocean’s “Thinkin Bout You,” went viral, racking up over 22 million views. Hailed as an “Artist to Watch” by Rolling Stone, USA Today and SPIN, she has sold out headline shows at venues across the U.S. and opened for such artists as Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith.
