TWENTY ONE PILOTS WRAP UP AMAZING TWO YEAR RUN WITH “TOUR DE COLUMBUS 2017”

The “Tour de Columbus 2017” will celebrate the end of an incredible nearly-two-year run that followed the 2015 release of their RIAA 3x platinum certified fourth album, “BLURRYFACE.”
Fully sold-out, “Tour de Columbus 2017” begins June 20th at the 300 person capacity venue, The Basement, and is followed by highly anticipated gigs at some of Twenty One Pilots’ most beloved local venues including; Newport Music Hall (June 21st), Express Live! (June 22nd), Nationwide Arena (June 24th) and Ohio State University’s Schottenstein Center (June 25th).

Twenty One Pilots have barely seen Columbus over the past two years, spending most of their time playing before sold-out audiences around the world. “Tour de Columbus” will culminate a remarkable live schedule that saw the band perform a stunning 272 shows in all, spanning North America, South America, Australia/New Zealand, and an extraordinary range of European countries, including Russia, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. “BLURRYFACE” – which followed Twenty One Pilots’ Fueled By Ramen debut album, 2013’s RIAA platinum certified “VESSEL” – made a stunning chart debut upon its initial release, entering the SoundScan/Billboard 200 at #1 and spawned a stellar series of smash hit singles, beginning with the RIAA platinum certified “Tear In My Heart” and followed by the #1 sensations, the 3x platinum certified “Ride”, and GRAMMY® Award-winning “Stressed Out.” The latter track spent three months at #1 at Modern Rock while also topping the charts at CHR/Top 40 and Hot AC. “Stressed Out” was a worldwide breakthrough for Twenty One Pilots, earning gold, platinum, and multi-platinum certifications in countries spanning Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. “Ride” spent five consecutive weeks atop the charts at Modern Rock radio outlets nationwide – the band’s second #1 single at the format in 2016 – while also ascending to #5 on the overall “Hot 100.” “Ride” was then followed by still another world-conquering hit single, “Heathens,” featured on Atlantic Records’ blockbuster “SUICIDE SQUAD: THE ALBUM.” The 4x RIAA platinum certified single – which received three GRAMMY® Award nominations including “Best Rock Performance” (Tyler Joseph, songwriter) – spent four consecutive weeks at #2 on the “Hot 100” while also topping Billboard’s “Hot Rock Songs” for a record-shattering 28 consecutive weeks and counting.
