Every since the guys of Train have made some band and management changes before releasing their 4th album Save Me San Francisc things could not be better. After experiencing a struggle with their previous album, For Me, It’s You, whic was a commercial failure, the band was seriously considering a break up after the project failed to gain momentum. After dealing with some of their internal struggles and working on solo projects, the core trio of the band reunited to work on Save Me San Francisco.
That album was not only successful, but it was without a doubt a mile stone in Train’s discography and career. The trio of Train wrote over 80 songs for the album and co-wrote with a variety of song writers/producers outside of the band. Some of these people included Gregg Wattenberg, OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, production duo, S*A*M and Sluggo, and Espionage. The album was also certified Gold in 2010. Much of the album’s success can be attributed to the album’s massively popular first single, “Hey Soul Sister. Away from whole album sales, “Hey Soul Sister” the single went on to sell over 5 million copies. It also became the most downloaded song on ITunes in 2010!
The success of “Hey Soul Sister” lead to 3 addition hit radio singles, and two additional promotional single (Including “Shake Up Christmas” from The “Golden Gate” Edition). Now the band is wrapping up promotion of the album with its 4th and final radio single. The song is the album’s title track, written by Pat Monahan and Sam Hollander and Dave Katz of S*A*M and Slugg. The video for the song was recently released to help promote the single.
