The Muppets Sing “Forget You”: A Look At The Muppets Soundtrack

The Muppets new movie, also called The Muppets was released in theaters while we were on our extended time off for the Thanksgiving holiday. During that time in an effort to promote the movie, The Disney Channel, as well as several related viral sources began to heavily circulate an awesome clip of “Camilla and The Chickens” clucking away at their own version of the Cee Lo Green smash, “Forget You”. We found the clip truly entertaining, and it prompted us to collect that and any other Muppetized versions of other hit songs we could find so you can be entertained by these delightful renditions as well.

While collecting, we discovered how musically awesome the entire film actually is. In addition to the chickens singing”Forget You”, “The Mupets’ Barbershop Quartet”surprisingly also sing Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. The uniqueness of that rendition aside, the film also features the prominently placed pop songs “We Built This City” by Starship, and “Me and Julio Down By The School Yard”, by Paul Simon. At least the unexpected covering of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” can be explained by the fact that former Nirvana member Dave Grohl make cameos in the movie.

In addition the awesome covers, the film also sports several new original Muppet songs, and a remake of the Jim Henson Classic “Rainbow Connection” performed by all of the Muppets. The original version performed by Henson as Kermit The Frog is available as an ITunes bonus track. We suggest you pick it up. Judging from what we’ve heard, the soundtrack is a smile waiting to happen. Who doesn’t need that once in a while? Check out the featured songs below.
