Ryan Tedder Helps Adele Continue To Top The Charts On New Single
Its no secret that Grammy Award winning singer/song writer, Adele has been through some struggles recently Earlier this month we reported that she had to cancel her US tour due to a vocal cord injury. That same injury is requiring Adele to get surgery, cancelling all public appearances and work throughout the end of the year. However with all the hardships Adele has been dealing with recently, the success for her still keeps on coming. This past week Adele’s current album, 21 enjoyed its 13th week at number one on the Billboard 200! So far the album has sold 4 million copies in the US alone, and her album’s stats continue to go up as the album’s second US single, “Someone Like You” tops the Billboard Hot 100 in this same week. These accolades help put Adele in some very exclusive company. No album has put up these kinds of Billboard numbers since 1997’s, Titanic Soundtrack, thanks largely to Celine Dion’s, “My Heart Will Go On.”
Despite continuing to have vocal cord problems, Adele is hotter than ever. Along with being number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard 200, Adele is also topping the ITunes Digital chart, as well as the Canadian Album Charts once again! The success is particularly remarkable in the US because she has sold over 4 million copies, while only being on the album’s second single promotionally. Many artists have to sometimes go six singles deep just to receive gold certification for their albums in the US these days. Adele’s label, Columbia Records is going to continue to try and strike while the iron is hot by releasing her new single, “Rumor Has It” on November 22nd. “Rumor Has It” will serve as 21’s third official single in the US, and fourth overall outside of the US. The song is has an upbeat rhythm of a Jazz and Blues inspired Pop/R&B sound. It was co-written by Adele along with OneRepublic front-man/producer/song writer, Ryan Tedder. Away from having hits of his own with his band, Tedder has also become known for producing R&B/Pop songs with big thumping beats behind them. Some of these hits include Leona Lewis’ “Bleeding Love, Jordin Sparks’ “Battlefield,” Beyonce’s “Halo”, and “Happy” also by Leona Lewis, just to name a few. Back in January Digital Spy reported on Adele collaborating with Tedder on the track.
“You can really tell when you hear a Ryan Tedder song, which I liked, but I wanted to come out with something that would surprise everyone when it was us two put together, so we came out with this sort of bluesy-pop stomping song really,”
With Ryan’s production/writing talents, and Adele’s amazing voice, “Rumor Has It” takes listeners to a new place compared to 21’s previous singles. The song has already topped the US Triple A singles chart ( Adult Alternative Album Chart) prior to official release. It is without a doubt one of the album’s stand out tracks, helping make Adele go down in history as one of the greatest singers of this generation. Clizbeats.com continues to wish you a very speedy recovery Adele! You truly have a gift, and we can’t wait until you are back on the world’s stage sharing it with all of us!
