Robin Thicke, Pharrell & ‘Blurred Lines’ Could Get a New Trial

By Courtney E. Smith
The battle between the Marvin Gaye family and “Blurred Lines” writers Robin Thicke and Pharrell is not over yet.
THR reports that U.S. District Judge John Kronstadt heard new motions on Friday (May 1) from both sides, including a heavy push from Pharrell’s team for a new trial.
His lawyers are arguing (read the motion here) that “the damages and profits awarded by the jury are unsupported by any evidence, let alone substantial evidence, and are contrary to law; and evidentiary errors and legal errors in the jury instructions were prejudicial and prevented Counter-Defendants from receiving a fair trial.”
