Pharrell Previews Scifi Themed “Gust Of Wind” Music Video
Mega producer Pharrell Williams is teaming up with the his “Get Lucky” hit making partners Daft Punk for the latest single to come from his latest album, Girl, “Gust Of Wind.” For the album cut’s video, “Skateboard P” and “the Robots” are going to offer a Sci-fi themed video directed by Edgar Wright of the Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Scott Pilgrim Versus the World movies. “Gust of Wind” marks Pharrell’s fourth collaboration with Daft Punk, either producing or performing together. The most notable of their collaborations, “Get Lucky” which also features Nile Rodgers of Chic, topped the charts in 55 countries, and sold 10 million copies.
Although there has yet to be a hint of the video’s release date, the new video is adding to an already active schedule for Pharrell and his Girl album. In addition to his new work as a coach on NBC’s The Voice, Williams also released the Takashi Murakami animated video for “It Girl” to VEVO on September 30th. According to Rolling Stone, he is also headed off on a European tour.
