Paul Walker In “Furious 7”

Were you one of the many that wishes they had a box of tissues while they watched Paul Walker’s final performance as Brian O’Connor in The Fast And The Furious franchise? Well, you weren’t the only one. Millions packed movie theatres around the country to see Furious 7 and see just how the Fast family would say goodbye to the franchises’ longest running star.

As many of you already know, Paul was tragically killed in a car crash on November 30, 2013 while he was on Thanksgiving break from filming, Furious 7. The film went through many delays, and was eventually able to be completed with the help of Paul’s brothers Cody and Caleb, who stepped up to perform as his stand ins. The use of CGI and texture animation allowed artists to mask their performances with Paul’s face. When word got out that this technique was being used with the Walker family’s full support, many movie goers couldn’t help being curious about how this would be used to give Brian O’Connor an exit since the script had to undergo extensive re-writes.

Now the reviews are in, and fans loved the added emotional layer that the action packed franchise was given with this installment. Many of those fans left the theatres with tears in their eyes after seeing Paul’s emotional send off.  As a result, Furious 7 not only became the most financially successful in the franchise’ history, but it is the most profitable April released film of all time. The film’s opening weekend take home of over 147 million domestically raced past the previous April record holder, Captain America: The Winter Soldier’s  95 million record. The movie’s financial success translated on to the Itunes charts as well. The Furious 7 Original Motion Picture Soundtrack zoomed up the iTunes album chart, thanks to that added emotional layer that can also be heard in the song selection for the film. Furious 7’s success on the charts is largely thanks to the song “See You Again” by Wiz Khalifa and newcomer, Charlie Puth. It serves as the theme song for Brian O’Connor’s tear-jerking goodbye, and is a reminder of the film’s powerful conclusion for anyone who hears the ballad.

Like the Furious 7 ‘s position at the box office, “See You Again” sits atop the iTunes singles chart, and is quickly becoming one of the most talked about contributions to the film. To help give the song’s success even more gas Vin Diesel premiered “See You Again’s” memorable music video late Sunday night (April 5) Diesel premiered the video via his Facebook page. He shared the video along with a caption about the successful opening weekend for Furious 7.

“Pablo, this weekend you turned the world into a family…

The video is a memorable tribute to Paul Walker, It is full of clips of Paul and the Fast family throughout all seven films while Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth are seen performing in between clips. The video even gives you a glimpse of Paul Walker and Vin Diesel’s last ride together.

SPOILER ALERT! If you intend to see Furious 7 and do not want to have any hints of what will happen to Brian O’Connor at the end of the movie, then it may not be a good idea to watch this video. However, if you are one of those people who are curious about how Paul Walker will exit the franchise, but have not seen the previous six films, the video is perfect for you! It will show you just enough so you understand just what your friends are talking about, without needing to understand the plot to any of the movies.
