Paul McCartney Reunites Surviving Members of Nirvana
British publication The Guardian have confirmed that former Beatle and all around rock legend Paul McCartney is set to serve as the temporary lead singer of definitive grunge Rock band Nirvana. He will join the surviving members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic in New York City tonight for the 12 12 12 Hurricane Sandy Relief concert at Madison Square Garden. According to a spokesperson close to the event confirmed that Grohl recently asked McCartney to come along to “jam with some mates”.
After he agreed, word is that Paul went on to suggest to “just make something up” and the three very different Rockers wen on to find their legs jamming together. Before long the new bread of Nirvana was born consisting of McCartney on vocals, Grohl on drums, Novoselic on bass, and and guitarist Pat Smear,who played with the band durring their last 6 months.
When asked about standing in for Nirvana lead singer Kurt Cobain, Paul had this to say:
“I didn’t really know who they were. They are saying how good it is to be back together. I said: ‘Whoa? You guys haven’t played together for all that time?’
“And somebody whispered to me: ‘That’s Nirvana. You’re Kurt.’ I couldn’t believe it.”
