Yesterday was a big day for One Direction fans. As it was promised in blogisphere buzz last week, the  British boy band released their latest music video “Kiss You.  This serves as the third single to come from their second album, Take Me Home. To capture the video’s concept  the boys reteamed with director Vaughan Arnell.  In that concept, Arnel has intentionally channeled a variety of classic Elvis Presly movie scenes. Through that homage the guys were able to emulate a retro feel good vibe that echoes through the video from start to finish.  We’re betting that they’re feeling the “good vibes” because the video has been seen over 6 million times since it was published to Vevo yesterday.

The momentum follows Take Me Home’s out of the gate hit “Live While We’re Young” which debuted as a well respected smash across the world, and the Ed Sheeran Penned track, “Little Things”.  If you consider the  fact that “Live While We’re Young” went on to become one of the most successful debuts to come from all UK acts ever, the boys really only have themselves to compete with right now. Well, themselves and Elton John that is.  “Live While We’re Young” was beat for the record by John’s  “Candle in the Wind 1997”, which was rewritten to pay tribute to the late Diana, Princess of Wales.

They have plenty to keep them busy just the same.  It is only weeks into the new year and the boys of 1D have an unprecedented sold out 2013 tour, and a new concert movie directed by famed Supersize Me Director, Morgan Spurlock to think about.  The film is reportedly scheduled to have an August release date.  We’ll keep you posted on details as they are made available.  Until then, enjoy the “Kiss You” music video below.
