Teen singer and former Disney Channel star, Demi Lovato released the music video for her current single, “Give Your Heart A Break” yesterday on Vevo. “Give Your Heart A Break” is the second single from her third album for Hollywood Records, Unbroken.. The video for “Give Your Heart A Break” follows the album’s inspirational ballad “Skyscraper”, and is the first promotional activity for the album since the release of Demi’s revealing MTV documentary, Demi Lovato: Stay Strong. It was in that very candid documentary where Demi discusses very openly her issues with body image and an eating disorder, as well as harming herself through cutting and being Bipolar. It were those struggles that were revealed in that documentary that caused her to step away from her Disney Channel show, Sonny With A Chance, and cancel any promotional tours connected to her career. It is for those reasons that help make her album, Unbroken, her most personal to date. As many of the songs on the album reflect her growth as a person, the single release for “Give Your Heart A Break” was given almost what could be called a resurgence of popularity as her fans stood behind her to show support after the documentary aired on MTV. In many ways her profound honesty about her problems has helped open the door for this album to go down so many more avenues now that she has been so open, through many other interviews and chats with fans now. It is always rewarding to see a talented person tackle their problems so that they can continue to do what they do best. The music video for “Give Your Heart A Break” is a good example of that. If you have not seen it yet, take a look!
