New Avril Lavigne “Smile”
- Avril Lavigne “Smile” RCA Records/RMG
Avril Lavigne and RCA Records recently released the second single to Avril’s 4th album, Goodbye Lullaby. The single is the song called “Smile”, one of the four tracks co-written with and produced by Max Martin and Shellback. The hit making duo behind Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Ke$ha and others were brought in to help Avril wrap up the production of the project in October 2010 after she had been working on it with Butch Walker and ex husband, Deryck Whibley since November 2008.
“Smile” was chosen to follow Avril’s “What The Hell”, after it peeked on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 11. Avril took to her Twitter accout to ask her fans to choose between the album’s songs, “Smile” and “Push.” Various sources indicated that Avril was hoping for “Push” to be released as a single, but in the end RCA Records annouced that “Smile” will be the chosen single. It will be released as a single officially in the USA on May 17th!
This makes a total of three singles offcially released from Goodbye Lullaby, including the Butch Walker produced “Alice”, originally released in January 2010. The song was originally included on the Buena Vista/Walt Disney Records’ Almost Alice album, the soundtrack to Tim Burton’s 2010 film, Alice In Wonderland.
