Lil Wayne "How To Love" Cash Money/Universal Motown Records Group

Fresh off the buzz of his Unplugged  concert on MTV 2, Lil’ Wayne is releasing a stripped down song with acoustic guitar called, “How To Love”.  Of all the things Wayne has done over the years to help his career evolve as a performer, this song has got to be one of the most surprising so far. The song featurings Wayne singing a catcy melodic love song  over an acoustic guitar and basic drum machine beat. One thing that is also surprising is the fact that there are no explicit lyrics in any part of the song. Could this be a sign of maturity for Wayne? It is possible. No matter what you think of the actual song, taking the singer /song writer approach is something new for Wayne, and is a stand out track on his forthcoming 9th album, Tha Carter IV.

“How To Love” follows Wayne’s song “John” as the album’s third official single. It was produced by Noel “Detail” Fisher. “Detail” is a Los Angeles based produced who is best known for producing a majority of Ray J’s 2005 album, Raydiation. Since then he has gone on to work with artists like, Sean Kingston, Flo Rida, Travie McCoy and others. Detail’s production with Lil’ Wayne is a new milestone in his career. “How To Love” will be one of the first times one of his songs will be released as a promotional single for an artist. So far the single has been serviced to multiple formats, including CHR/Pop, Rhythmic, and Urban.  There is no telling how big of a hit Wayne’s musical expeiment will work.  But it is already being picked up fast by many different radio stations across the country including, WXRK, KMVQ, WDZH, WKQI, WZFT, KDND, WNOU, WRNW.

That Carter IV will be hitting stores officially on August 29th. It features other production from the likes of Bangladesh, Swizz Beatz, T-Minus, Jim Jonsin,Detail, Noah “40” Shebib, amd Clizbeats featured artis, Kevin Rudolf among others. Some of the confirmed guest performers are of course Cory Gunz and Rick Ross, who appear on the album’s two previous singles, “6 Foot, 7 Foot” and “John (If I Die Today)”. Other performers may also include, T-Pain, Kanye West, Drake, Jadakiss, and also Kevin Rudolf.
