Michael J. Fox Performing “Johnny B. Goode”
While reading up on other current events in the music biz, we found some really cool concert footage from Actor/Activist Michael J. Fox. Fox took the stage at his own A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Cure Parkinson’s charity benefit in New York City this past Saturday to play lead guitar on “Johnny B. Goode”. Movie fans across the board are likely to remember Fox performing the Chuck Berry song while playing his iconic role of Marty McFly in Universal Pictures’ 1985 classic, Back to the Future. “Johnny B. Goode” is a challenging song for anyone to do at any level. The fact Fox performed the song in a very public way that naturally forces comparisons to something he did in his early 20s as part of a major hollywood motion picture, takes real guts. The fact that he did it inspite of dealing with any aspect of his Parkinsons Disease related challenges is a reminder for all of us, “healthy” and “disabled” alike, to step our game up. We salute you Mr. Fox!
