Linkin Park Singer Chester Bennington Has Died from An Apparent Suicide
We are shocked and saddened to learn that Linking Park, singer Chester Bennington has died. This news comes to us from TMZ.com‘s initial report that Bennington passed away from an apparent suicide. He was just 41 years old. Law enforcement sources revealed that the singer hung himself at a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates in L.A. County. His body was discovered Thursday morning. Bennington was married with 6 kids. The singer had a history of struggles with drugs and alcohol for years. The TMZ report highlighted the fact that In previous interviews about his music, he had said that he had considered committing suicide in the past because he had been abused as a child.
The TMZ report also noted that Chester was very close with singer/songwriter, Chris Cornell, who committed suicide by hanging in May. Today would have been Cornell’s 53rd birthday. Our last report about Linkin Park was published on May 31st. It was about their seventh studio album, One More Light hitting No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Linkin Park was currently in the middle of their One More Light World Tour with special guests Machine Gun Kelly, Snoop Dogg, One OK Rock and Blink 182. That tour was scheduled to continue through Oct 22, in Los Angeles, CA at Hollywood Bowl. Linkin Park has sold over 70 million albums and 30 million singles worldwide.
