Katy Perry Debuts Impressive Facebook Based Lyric Video For “Wide Awake”
Katy Perry is following the Billboard Music Awards debut of her latest single “Wide Awake” with what some may consider to be an even more impressive lyric video. For “Wide Awake”‘s lyric video, Perry and company creatively incorporated the use of her actual Facebook time line. While watching the video fans can take a rhythmic journey through the public fascists of career, and experience a deeper feeling of connection with the already up lifting song. It is truly an entertaining thing to watch and breaks new ground on how artists can share themselves to their audience.
Getting personal appears to be the name of the game for Katy Perry these days. The release of her 3D bio movie Katy Perry: Part Of Me is approaching steadily, and reports are indicating that it is going to give fans a very exclusive look into her private life. Of that private material, the most attention grabbing will more than likely be that which chronicles her marriage to British comedian Russell Brand, which reportedly “fell apart”during filming.
“I thought it was important for me to show everything in between,” the singer told Ellen DeGeneres about the good and bad in her life.
“Sometimes, people think that we’re perfect, and we know we’re not perfect at all,” Perry explained. “I think it’s important to start breaking down the idea that to achieve your dream, you have to always be perfect or flawless or live in a fantasy world. So that’s why I decided to put everything into the film, in the most tasteful way. But mostly, it’s about how I got there and the ride along the way, which can be bumpy, but mostly it was extremely fun.”
It’s fitting to say that the lyric video does a nice job of capturing the film’s mood as well. Check it out below and see if you agree. Katy Perry: Part Of Me is set to hit theaters on July 5th.
