Justin Timberlake And RCA Records Make Pop Radio History With “Can’t Stop The Feeling!”
Some major congratulations are in order for Justin Timberlake and the radio promotions department at his label, RCA Records as they have made history this week. As we posted early in the morning on May 6, RCA and JT released his latest single and video “Can’t Stop The Feeling!” last week. The response has been unprecedented. While it is no surprise that Justin Timberlake is once again one of the most popular artists on Pop radio, what is a surprise is the record that that was set from his song just being released to Pop radio. Apparently radio can’t stop playing, “Can’t Stop The Feeling.” This is because, as our friends at All Access Music Group have reported earlier this week, JT and RCA have earned the title for most added song in Pop radio history. Yes that’s right all 186 pop radio stations added “Can’t Stop The Feeling” in one promo week. This has got to have everyone both at both RCA Records and DreamWorks Animation doing a little “dance, dance, dance.”
Wow. Did we just make history?! Thank you so much to ALL of #Top40 and @RCARecords! UNREAL! I’m blown away! 🙏‼️https://t.co/WHoXiMp5Pe

It certainly has the world eagerly anticipating the film and music that “Can’t Stop The Feeling” is connected to, DreamWorks Animation/20th Century Fox’s Trolls. Since the song has the world talking, buzz for the film must be ahead of schedule because Trolls is not going to hit the silver screen until November. The film which stars the voice talents of Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Zooey Deschanel, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Russell Brand, Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski, James Corden, Kunal Nayyar, Ron Funches, Icona Pop, Quvenzhané Wallis, with John Cleese and Gwen Stefani will also have Timberlake serving as executive music producer of the film.
“Can’t Stop The Feeling!” was written and produced by Justin Timberlake, Max Martin and Martin’s frequent collaborator, Shellback specifically for the film. This is the first time Timberlake and Max Martin have co-written/produced together, but this song also serves as unique type of reunion between the two hit-makers. Max Martin is famously responsible for co-writing/producing a few of JT’s former group *NSYNC’s biggest hits in the 90s and early 2000s. (“I Want You Back” from 1996/1998, “Tearin’ Up My Heart” from 1997/1998, and “it’s Gonna Be Me” from 2000). The soundtrack will also feature 3 additional original tracks written by Timberlake. If that was not enough good news, he and his co-star Anna Kendrick will perform a duet version of the 1986 Cyndi Lauper hit, “True Colors” in the film and soundtrack.
