Justin Bieber Tops Michael Jackson
Justin Bieber: Never Say Never In Surge/MTV Films/Paramount Pictures
Its official, The Hollywood Reporter reports that In Surge/MTV Films/Paramount Pictures’ film, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never now holds the record for the top grossing concert themed film of all time in this country. It recently passed Michael Jackson’s 2009 film, Michael Jackson: This Is It earning a jaw dropping 72.2 million dollars. MJ still holds the record worldwide , but JB’s film held up solid numbers internationally as well. While Walt Disney Picture’s two Recent concert films still were beaten by Bieber’s numbers. Never Say Never grossed over 10 million internationally, while the Jonas Brothers grossed 4 Million, and Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus grossed 5 million.
Justin’s film also had a hit EP soundtrack that topped the charts. The song also called “Never Say Never” featuring Jaden Smith was originally released to help promote Jaden’s 2010 film, Karate Kid saw a jump in sales when it was later included on Bieber’s film soundtrack EP. the EP also included his collaboration with Usher on “Somebody To Love”, a live version of “Overboard” from the film with Miley Cyrus, as well as a remixes of songs with other artists. Thesse include “Runaway Love” featuring Kanye West, & Raekwon, “Up” featurintg Chris Brown, and “That Should Be Me” featuring Rascal Flatts. The soundtrack also included one original song, the uplifting ballad written by Dian Warren, “Born To Be Somebody,” it can be heard over the end credits of the film.
Last week the second music video off of the filn’s soundtrack hit Vevo. “That Should Be Me” remix took off after recently being first seen on Rascal Flatts’ ABC special. If you have not seen it yet take a look along with the other great highlights from the soundtrack!
