Justin Bieber. Is he retiring or not? This is the question that has been floating around quite frequently; Scooter Braun has come forward stating this is not true. According to Bieber’s manager and a recent interview with Ryan Seacrest, the bieb’s is just taking some time off. This might be a good idea after the numbers his sophomore documentary “Justin Bieber’s Believe” received after its Christmas release came in and was dubbed a flop after making only $1.25 million on it’s first day in the box office, and coming in 14th overall. Competing with movies such as “The Hobbit”, “The Wolf Of Wall Street”, “Saving Mr. Banks”, and “American Hustle”, it’s not surprising the film didn’t do as well as it’s predecessor  “Never Say Never” which pulled in $12 million on it’s opening day in 2011. A source close to Bieber blames the movies poor ticket sales, not on competition, but instead on “virtually no advertising budget” for the film.

In the film Justin’s mentor, Usher states was quoted saying “You can’t have a normal life if you’re a super star, he’s forced to grow up in front of the world”. So maybe his retirement or time away from the spotlight is just to grow up and take some time for himself? His ex girlfriend, singer/actress Selena Gomez has chosen to do the same. Selena recently cancelled her Australia and Asia leg of her tour, to “spend time with herself”. Popdust along with a few other reliable sites have reported that this cancellation is due to Selena having a recent flare up of lupus. The singer was reportedly diagnosed in her late teens, although we are unsure if this is true, as her reps have not confirmed it, we wish Selena all the best, and hope she starts to feel better soon!

In light of these reports, Justin and Selena have been seen spending time together, riding segways. Justin also posted a photo of the two together on his instagram (shown below) captioned “Love the way you look at me”.

With the two taking time off maybe they can work through their past issues? In “Believe” Justin talks about relationships and refers to breakup as a “clenching” pain in his chest, aww. Speaking of love and relationships, congratulations is in order for Scooter Braun who announced his engagement to F-Cancer founder Yaehl Cohen.
