One of the biggest developing stories in pop music over the weekend away from the Billboard Music Awards came when Janet Jackson announced her return to music. The news came with a tweet from Janet on Saturday. (May 16, 2015) That tweet contained a short, and affective video with a hashtag called #ConversationsInACafe that has everyone continuing the “conversation” about what may be coming. The clip shows a stereo with Janet’s voice playing on it in front of soft music. She doesn’t say much, but what she does say gives her 3 million plus followers a lot to look forward to!
“I promised you’d hear it from my lips. And now you will. This year. New music. New world tour. A new movement. I’ve been listening. Let’s keep the conversation going.”
These words Jackson spoke were in response to talk about a new music project from Jackson started after leaked information in August. This video is significant because Janet has retreated from the spotlight after the release of her third greatest hits album, Icon: Number Ones from August of 2010.
If there is a new project, you’ll hear it from my lips.
