We gotta give a quick shout out to one of our favorite Clizbeats featured artists Janelle Monae.  Yesterday Bad Boy/Atlantic Records serviced her latest single called “Q.U.E.E.N.” The track that features Neo Soul favorite Erykah Badu is the first single to come from her new album Electric Lady. Q.U.E.E.N marks Monae’s first released effort as the lead artist since she published the eye catching music video to her ArchAndroid (Suites II and III) concept album single “Cold War. “

Many mainstream Hip Hop fans are likely to remember her best from her single “Tightrope” with Outcast rapper Big Boi.  It went on to spawn a “Wondamix” remix that features Lupe Fiasco and B.O.B  “Tightrope” was also featured in the 2011 animated feature Happy Feet 2.  Her latest career stat milestone is as the featured singer on Fun’s multi platinum seller “We Are Young.”  It became one of the biggest international songs of 2012.

In addition to the up coming release of Electric Lady, Monae has made headlines for joining music stars like Bruno Mars and Will.I.Am in lending her voice to the Blue Sky Studios Animated feature Rio 2.  For more details on Janelle check out this 2008 profile interview we did about her rise to fame.
