Janelle Monae is showing off every quality that has made her one of our personal favorites in her new music video for “Q.U.E.E.N.” For her first music video since 2010 Janelle follows in the footsteps her concept album ArcAndriod and hits us with a blend of sexiness, female empowerment, and theatricality.  In the video that was released online today, Monae and her Wondaland Art Society band members are presented among other standout images, and the song’s featured artist Erykah Badu, as exhibits in a futuristic museum like setting that is being studied by the “time counsel.”

In the video Mone and friends play the role of exhibits in “the living museum” that serve as examples of rebellion in the 21st century.  As the story goes, these rebels united to launch “project Q.U.E.E.N., a musical weapons program” that Wondaland “disguised as songs, emotion pictures, and works of art.” It is fantastic!

Janelle must be getting her share of modeling experience through her contract with CoverGirl, because in this video she is showing off a sexy flare in her dancing that is refreshingly mixed into her onstage persona.

Q.U.E.E.N is from the forthcoming Bad Boy/Atlantic Records release Electric Lady. It is so awesome to have her back in the game! Check the video out below. Go get em Janelle!
