Interview: Tori Kelly Talks ‘Unbreakable Smile’, Doing Mariah Carey at Karaoke

Tori Kelly might have started as a YouTube cover star, but she’s rocketed past that marker to become singer of the hit track “Nobody Love” which you heard on the radio all spring. When Kelly performed an unplugged version of the song on the Billboard Music Awards earlier this year, she blew everyone away. But that doesn’t mean she won’t still do a cover now and then.

“I tend to do ‘Vision of Love’ by Mariah Carey [at karaoke,]” Kelly tells us with a self-conscious laugh. “I think because I sang it in some competition when I was 7 or 8 and I won…with that song. So that song has always been really special to me. I geeked out when she tweeted me the other day. Oh, I freaked out. It was cool.”
