Indie Artist Spotlight: Amalia Watty

Amalia has one of those voices you just don’t forget. Whether you hear her on the radio or in concert, her distinctive tone and spellbinding style stay with you. Irresistible, and certain to usher in her own trend – a female Passenger meets Pharell Williams meets Corrine Bailey Rae…, she was recently featured on Refinery 29, Afropunk and The Next To Shine.
Amalia is from Anguilla in the Caribbean. After coming to college in New York, she immediately focused exclusively on her music – busking daily in New York City’s subways with other musicians. For now, this is where Amalia has set up her rehearsal space. At night, she plays out in New York, on stages such as The Blue Note, The Soho House in West Hollywood, US Open, The Bitter End, Live From Oz at The Hudson Hotel, Rockwood Music Hall and more.
Amalia’s refreshing, organic quality drew Los Angeles based producer/ songwriter Jamie Houston’s attention. (Steven Tyler, Carlos Santana, Sheryl Crow, Miley Cyrus, Macy Grey, Kid Rock) Her first single can be downloaded now on itunes…don’t miss the new wave of excitement with @AmaliaWatty
