The Show must go on. As we first reported on November 19th, U2 singer Bono suffered injuries related to a bicycling accident that left him in need of surgery and intensive therapy. As a result, many were speculating on how the rest of the band would manage to soldier on in his absence and perform at the World AIDS benefit concert that Bono founded. The Irish rockers answered that call to action with a little help from their “friends” Chris Martin and Bruce Springsteen.
The two non U2 rock stars did their best emulation of their friend Bono live in Time Square last night, ensuring that U2’s portion of the show did indeed go on. Thanks to some help from the AP Wire Service, we can show you some of that show via You Tube, just in case you missed it. Last night’s event also included performances by Carrie Underwood and Kanye West. Check out the clip above.
