In case you missed it, It was the biggest night in Latin music last night, and the event was filled with plenty of thoroughly entertaining things of all cultures to enjoy. The award show was broadcast live on Univision from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. And, it was clear that producers were ready to accommodate a diverse and worldly audience.
The event presented a mix of rhythms, from alternative to mariachi, as well as a mix of mash-up performances from the likes of Jamaican artist Omi, who shared the stage with reggaeton singer Nicky Jam, and Philadelphia’s favorite son, Will Smith. The star of Village Road Show and Columbia Pictures’ new film Concussion returned to his rap roots, performing “Fiesta” with Colombian trop-rockers Bomba Estereo. Bomba Estereo and Will’s hit was nominated for record of the year, but lost to Natalia Lafourcade’s Hasta La Raíz. Click here for the complete winners list.
