#ICYMI: Vanessa Hudgens Talks Father’s Stage Four Cancer Battle
As some of you may know, we got a bit nostalgic while promoting Zac Efron’s new EDM related movie We Are your Friends that is set for release this Friday. Naturally, this got us thinking about his High School Musical co-star Vanessa Hudgens as well. The “Come Back To Me” singer is currently making headlines after going public at the 2015 Industry Dance Awards & Cancer Benefit Show with the sad news that her father is battling stage four cancer.
“Let me tell you, I hate cancer. I hate cancer with every cell of my being,” she said. “If you would have asked me two years ago what I thought of cancer, I would have said, ‘Man, you know, it sucks. It’s a horrible disease.’ But that’s only because I had not been faced with it personally.”
She dedicated her award to her father Greg Hudgens, and her boyfriend Austin Butler’s mother Lori, who lost her own battle with cancer back in September. We wanted to take this opportunity to wish all the best to Vanessa, Greg, and their friends and family.
