Mackelemore and Ryan Lewis have released yet another heart wrenching music video to accompany the latest of their deeper than average rap songs. The music video for “Drug Dealer” takes that depth to new heights as director Jason Koenig shows Macklemore as an addict going through withdrawal in the realest visual possible. It serves as the duo’s first new single since they released their sophomore album, This Unruly Mess I’ve Made, back in February.
As previously reported, Macklemore is a recovering drug/alcohol addict that has openly discussed his own struggle as a primary topic in their music in an effort to provoke social change. That talent and the purity of their efforts has gotten them a number of accolades, and recently it took them all the way to The White House with the President Obama featured MTV documentary produced by Macklemore,Prescription for Change.
