#ICYMI: Lil Wayne Plans To Take Drake And Nicki Minaj When Exiting Cash Money Records

Although we’ve hinted at this when we learned the news of the now public YMCMB Civil War, TMZ confirmed yesterday that Lil Wayne has every intention to take his Young Money stars Drake and Nicki Minaj with him when he leaves Cash Money Records. An inside source says that in addition to suing label head Bryan “Birdman” Williams for the $8 million owed to him for his Tha Carter 5 album, he plans to take his YM roster that includes Drake, Nicki, Christina Millian, and Justin Bieber’s tabloid sidekick, Lil Twist. The one complication that Wayne and anyone following the saga needs to consider is that all of this was started because of a possible voiding Wayne’s individual contract. Each of these artists have their own deals and terms to their contracts, binding them to distribution deals with Cash Money Records.
If Lil Wayne is using the breach of a valid agreement as the basis for his leaving Cash Money, what will he do for the rest of his team if their contracts remain valid? We don’t know the answer. All we can say is that boss man Weezy is Pretty sure of himself. Surely there will be more to come with this issue. We’ll do our best to keep you posted just in case you missed it.
