#ICYMI: Lifetime Previews Alexandra Shipp Aaliyah: Princess of R&B
After dealing with a series of issues related to recasting and friction from the singer’s family, the Lifetime Network lis ready to release their forthcoming bio pic, Aaliyah: Princess of R&B. You may recall from our article back in July that Disney Channel star, Zendaya Coleman was originally set to play the “1 In A Million” singer, but later abruptly dropped out of the role, just as tensions about the film’s production were coming to a head. Although Aaliyah’s family was steadfast against this film being made, the production soldiered on, replacing Coleman with Nickelodeon star, Alexandra Shipp.
The first preview of Shipp in action as Aaliyah was released to the web on Friday. Weather the family likes it or not, the film is set to air on Lifetime on Saturday November 15th at 8/7c. Check out the clip for yourself. Just in case you missed it.
