#ICYMI: Boy George Shuts Down Production Of The Voice UK Saying “I Slept With Prince”

In case you missed it, Culture Club lead singer Boy George has caused production of The Voice UK to shutdown after conversationally remarking that he “slept with Prince.” According to several reports, George, sitting on the judges panel alongside Will.i.am, Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson and singer Paloma Faith, was comparing histories of duets between soul singers when it all went down.
“I have duetted with some of the greatest soul singers in history, George said. “Including Luther Vandross and Smokey Robinson.”
Chiming in to the discussion, Paloma responded, saying, “Well OK, if we’re throwing big soul names out there I’ve performed with Prince.”
George reportedly replied: “Forget that, darling, I’ve slept with Prince.”
An unnamed source on The Voice UK production staff told The Daily Mail that the crew couldn’t believe what they had heard, and the crowd went “absolutely wild.”
That same source went on, adding that the other judges, especially Will.i.am, thought it was brilliant and kept on high-fiving him.
“Production staff had to come up on stage and speak to them. “
“After that, Boy George started backtracking saying he hadn’t really slept with Prince and that in reality, he just had his poster on his wall. But as far as the crowd were concerned the cat was already out of the bag.”
The “Do You really Want to Hurt Me” singer joined The Voice UK, replacing Tom Jones, who had been with the show since 2012. The fifth series of The Voice starts in January 2016 on BBC One.
