The RIAA (Record Industry Association of America) has just named Lady Gaga as the most successful singer in digital music history. This recognition is due to the fact that all of her digitally released singles have gone either gold or platinum, with many of them being the latter. Some stand out examples of her success are listed below with the following singles that all have platinum status or higher.
“Just Dance” 6x multi-Platinum
“Poker Face” 5x multi-Platinum
“Bad Romance” 4x multi-Platinum
“Paparazzi” 3x multi-Platinum
“Love Game” 2x multi-Platinum
When tallied all up, the “Born This Way” singer has sold a wopping 20 million downloads, with her debut single “Just Dance” tying the Black Eyed Peas’ I Gotta Feeling” as the most downloaded song in certification history. This makes her the most downloaded female and solo artist today. Not bad for an artist that has Asian governments deeming her current Gay Anthem “Born This Way” as too provocative. The global stir must mean she’s worth the hype though. Congratulations Gaga!
