(Feb. 19, 2015 – New York, NY)  Def Jam Recordings has fortified its media, creative development and artist relations initiatives with the promotion of respected industry veteran Gabe Tesoriero to Executive Vice President, Media and Artist Relations, it was announced today by Steve Bartels, CEO, Def Jam Recordings.

Based in New York, Mr. Tesoriero will work closely with the East Coast and West Coast staffs on behalf of the artists and executives of Def Jam Recordings and its affiliate labels.  He will lead media, publicity, creative, and imaging campaigns for Def Jam’s stellar roster of multi-platinum, award-winning legends and superstars, as well as the company’s new and developing artists.

“ I have worked with Gabe personally for over ten years and am excited to be announcing his well-deserved  promotion,” said Bartels. “Both Dion ‘No ID’ Wilson and I are looking forward to the energy Gabe will bring to all of our artist campaigns. With thoughtful initiatives that will surround the great artists and executives of this label, I know Def Jam is in strong hands with Gabe’s expertise and the department he is  building.”

Mr. Tesoriero is a ten-year veteran of Def Jam, having served as Senior Vice President, Media and Artist Relations for the former Island Def Jam Music Group since 2012.  Prior to that, he was Vice President, Media and Artist Relations for IDJMG since 2008.  He started at the company in 2005, as Senior Director, Media and Artist Relations.

Mr. Tesoriero began his career in music in 1998, as staff publicist with JLM Public Relations in New York.  His early client roster included VP Records, for whom he broke Sean Paul, Beenie Man, Buju Banton, and others.  He also handled Roc-A-Fella Records, for whom he has been representing Kanye West for the entirety of his career; he also handled Old Dirty Bastard, Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Cam’Ron and The Diplomats, and many more.  Other clients included Z100 Radio, RED Distribution, Mark Ronson & Allido Records, Tuff Gong Records (Damien & Stephen Marley), Warren G, Tha Dogg Pound, The D.O.C. and many others.  Mr. Tesoriero attended New York University, where he graduated in 1993 with the Bachelor of Arts degree in American Literature & Creative Writing.
