Eminem & Shady Records Get Ready To ‘Re-Up Oct 9, 2006
By Craig Clizbe
Eminem fans don’t have much longer to wait to hear something new from him. Em and his Shady Records family are putting the finishing touches on the label’s first compilation. This compilation, entitled, Eminem Presents: The Re-Up will feature Shady’s usual suspects like 50 Cent, G-Unit, D12 and Eminem himself. The CD is executive produced by Eminem and features music production by Eminem and The Alchemist (Known For his work with Nas, Snoop Dogg and Jadakiss). The Alchemist, who recently became Eminem’s on stage DJ had previously compiled the songs for an upcoming Shady Records mixtape for the DJ/mixtape circuit. However, Eminem recently confirmed with Vibe Magazine that the mix will be turned into this highly anticipated compilation album.
Eminem told Vibe, “What happened is that the material was so good and the tracks were getting produced like a regular album. Instead of putting it out there rough and unfinished, I thought we should add some other new tracks, make it a real album, and put it in record stores to give these new artists a real boost.” Due to the fact that the songs were originally intended for a mixtape, many artist and track listings have been leaked. What is confirmed is the unreleased tracks featuring vocals from slain D12 member, Proof, will not be featured on the album. Those tracks are intended for a pending release on a different project.
The first single from the compilation is “You Don’t Know” by Eminem Featuring 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, and Ca$his. The single will be on your radio in the coming weeks, and the video is set for a BET premiere on October 17th. (Eminem’s Birthday) The album will then be released on December 5, 2006!
