Supergirl is trending across all social media thanks to CBS debuting the first look trailer to the DC Comics character’s new science fiction action drama. Any of you who follow us on social media, probably also know that we love comics thanks to us taking time off and sharing pictures from our time at Philadelphia’s Wizard World Comic Con from this past weekend. Therefore, you probably also assume correctly that we were delighted to learn that this highly trafficked first look, which makes the show look fantastic, also uses music that embodies both the essence of the character and the hip tone that the show looks to be striving for.

Serving as the best example of marketing meeting an artistic heart CBS, DC Entertainment, and Warner Bros Television place New York Singer/Songwriter Rachel Platten on shoulders of steel to triumphantly introduce her breakout single “Fight Song” to the world. Columbia Records scored big time when “Fight Song was locked in this week’s first look trailer debut as the musical heartbeat of Superman’s hottie cousin because Rachel also released her Fight Song EP this week.

In addition to “Fight Song”, the four-song EP also includes the previously released track “Lone Ranger”, and two brand new songs, “Congratulations” and “Beating Me Up.” The Fight Song EP is available digitally everywhere now, including iTunes and Spotify.  Rachel is set to join Colbie Caillat and Christina Perri on “The Girls Night Out, Boys Can Come Too Tour” this summer and CBS’ Supergirl is set to hit the air at the end of the year.  We’ll be checking out both. Will you?
