Cars Drive CountryMay 23, 2006
Once again Clizbeats is proud to tell you about a special soundtrack to a highly anticipated summer blockbuster. Last summer we told you about The Fantastic Four, and introduced you to Omnisoul. This summer we are excited to tell you about the soundtrack to the new film from Pixar and Walt Disney Pictures, Cars. The people who brought you Toy Story and The Incredibles bring you yet another cutting edge soon to be classic CGI Disney film. Cars has everyone at Pixar Animation studios revving their engines to tell the story about the life of a car! The story is centered around Lightning McQueen, a rookie race car literally driven to success. McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson) soon discovers a new direction to travel on a detour on Route 66. McQueen then finds a brand new journey in life in a small town called Radiator Springs. Of Course there are plenty of laughs and heart warming moments in this film for the family.
A cast featuring the likes of Owen Wilson, Paul Newman, , Bonnie Hunt, “Larry the Cable Guy”, Cheech Marin, George Carlin, Richard Petty, Michael Keaton and more already shows how this film has potential excitement written all over it. But one of the reasons we at Clizbeats think this movie is special for Disney is because of their approach to the motion picture’s soundtrack. This was the first time a Pixar/Disney collaboration got to bring so many country and singer songwriter superstars together to create a contemporary soundtrack with some country and pop sensibility. In addition to another Randy Newman score, the soundtrack’s key players include the likes of Sheryl Crow, Brad Paisley, John Mayer, James Taylor and of course Rascal Flatts.
Sheryl Crow performs the opening song of the movie “Real Gone” and John Mayer puts his guitar solos to use on a special version of “Route 66”! Country superstar Brad Paisley brings some traditional country music to the table with the song “Find Yourself”. The Film’s score composer, Randy Newman wrote the song “Our Town”, performed by James Taylor. If that’s not enough to get your attention, more country music superstars are added to the mix. The guys of Rascal Flatts contribute the first single off of the CD! Their addition to the CD is a very high energy version of Tom Cochrane’s 1992 hit, “Life Is A Highway“. Be sure to check out the brand new video for the song on CMT and of course The Disney Channel!
For those who can not wait until Cars’ June 9th world wide release in theatre’s and Walt Disney Records’ release of this great soundtrack on June 6th, you can check out Rascal Flatts’ latest, “When It Hurts The Most” on your TV and radio now!
