Cardi B Continues To Break Records With Her Debut Album “Invasion Of Privacy”

Hip Hop superstar Cardi B is continuing to break records and make history with her blockbuster debut album, Invasion Of Privacy. The album – which was already certified Gold by the RIAA on its day of release, the first-ever album by a female artist to achieve that milestone – has now made an equally extraordinary chart debut atop the Billboard 200, entering at #1 with 255K album equivalents – the top Billboard 200 debut for a female this year as well as 2018’s second biggest chart debut thus far. Cardi B has become the fifth female rapper to top the Billboard 200 albums chart. Invasion Of Privacy has topped a number of additional charts, including Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, Top Rap Albums,” and Top Digital Albums.
Furthermore, Invasion Of Privacy is also a digital and streaming phenomenon, earning the largest ever first week streaming total for an artist’s debut album as well as the largest first week streaming total for any female artist ever. All told, the acclaimed album – which logged the most first week streams for a female artist in Apple Music history – will enter the record books at the 5th largest streaming debut of all time. Invasion Of Privacy also nabs the second-largest streaming week for an album in 2018.
Invasion Of Privacy – which includes the 5x RIAA platinum certified classic, “Bodak Yellow,” alongside the platinum certified smash, “Bartier Cardi,” featuring 21 Savage new favorites like “Be Careful” and “I Like It,” featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin and a spectacular lineup of featured appearances from Chance The Rapper, SZA, Kehlani, Migos, and YG – has drawn critical acclaim around the world to match its remarkable popular success. Invasion Of Privacy. “is lavishly emotional, intimately personal, wildly funny,” announced Rolling Stone in its four-starred rave. “Still, there’s no question whose album this is. Funny, fierce, foul-mouthed and in-your-face, “Invasion of Privacy” is one of the most powerful debuts of this millennium,” declared Variety. “The 25-year-old’s debut album shows off her hard work, versatility and ambition, mixing quick-jab rhymes with the enthusiasm and charm that have made her a star,” raves The New York Times. Pitchfork summed it up best: “Cardi B’s remarkable debut places her, without a doubt, in the pantheon of great rappers. It is both brazen and vulnerable, filled with wild amounts of personality, style, and craft.”

Cardi B is currently featured on the April cover of Cosmopolitan after several recent cover appearances that include Rolling Stone, The New York Times Magazine, i-D Magazine, and CR Fashion Book to name but a few. Cardi B made history last year with the release of her breakout hit “Bodak Yellow.” The now 5x platinum smash hit spent three historic weeks at #1 on Billboard’s “Hot 100” – the first solo #1 by a female hip-hop artist in nearly two decades.
Undoubtedly 2017’s greatest hip-hop phenomenon, Cardi B’s massive feature versus on G-Eazy’s “No Limit (Ft. A$AP Rocky and Cardi B)” and “MotorSport” by Migos, Nicki Minaj joined “Bodak Yellow” at the top of Billboard’s Hot 100, making Cardi the first female rapper to land her first three entries in the chat’s top 10. As if that were not enough, with the release of “Bartier Cardi” and Bruno Mars’s “Finesse (Remix) [Feat. Cardi B],” the latter of which is now certified 2x platinum, Cardi B made history yet again, surpassing Beyoncé as the first woman to have five top 10 singles simultaneously on the “Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs” chart.
