Busta Rhymes To Join All-Star Line UP In Concept Album “The Hamilton Mixtape”

As I was preparing last week’s #TBT feature about Puff Daddy’s “Victory”, I learned that featured rapper Busta Rhymes is also in the news for joining up with some great Hip Hop talent to make history. That exciting news is that he will be participating in a concept album spinoff of the Broadway musical Hamilton.
In an interview appearing in the March issue of Vanity Fair magazine, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Questlove of The Roots discussed the fact that they are working on putting together The Hamilton Mixtape. The project is going to be essentially covers of songs from the musical, as well as original material inspired by the Broadway musical. Busta Rhymes, who Miranda says was one of the first big hip hop artists to come see Hamilton, will be appearing on the mixtape. Other artists that are slated to appear on the project include Chance The Rapper, Common, Queen Latifah, and Ben Folds.
