It’s official. The Blacked Eyed Peas have the song of the summer!  Their smash hit “I Gotta  Feeling” continues to be on top of the Top 40 charts.  Up 123 plays this week in the country’s radio station, “I Gotta Feeling” joins other Interscope favorites like Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face,” and OneRepublic’s “Apologize” as one of the most played songs in Pop music history; all three of these Interscope Records artists have topped this list of most played songs at one time or another. This is without a doubt a very special achievement for a Rap group who used to struggle to get on the radio at all!

Now they are hoping follow up that momentum with single number three called, “Meet Me Half Way” for their album The E.N.D. The track is interesting because it is very progressively “new school,” even though Fergie’s vocals are hauntingly similar to a Blondie, P.M. Dawn and old school  Madonna mixture.  It’s interesting how the right blend of past influences can remind us of what’s important in music and allow for some truly progressive Pop music.  Bravo Peas!
