Beyonce Stops Critics And The World While Reminding us Why We Love Destiny’s Child
Anyone who watched the Superbowl knows that it was a great game, and an even better half time show. Beyonce’s showed the world that she could not only sing, but she could dance, and command a stage in a way, that at least in the case of last night, literally shut the place down. For the very few of you that missed it, Bey performed a medley of her hits “Love on Top,” “Crazy in Love,” “Baby Boy,” “End of Time”and others. To everyone’s delight she then segued the heart stopping medley into the most expected surprise of the night when she reunited with Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams of her early 2000s girl R&B group Destiny’s Child, who took the spectacle to an even higher scale with an electric blend of their hits “Bootylicious”, Independent women Part 1″, as well as Bey’s smash “Single Ladies”. After a fantastic performance, Kelly and Michelle then left, and Bey closed out with a fantastically live addition of her Ryan Tedder written and produced track “Halo”.

While still under a considerable pressure from the recent public uproar about her use of a backing track while singing “The Star Spangled Banner” during the presidential inauguration, Beyonce studied past halftime show greats to help inspire her show her extravaganza that was seen by over 100 million people. Beyonce told CBS’ Superbowl Live that she studied the Madonna, Prince, as well as the legendary halftime show performance by Michael Jackson that also happens to turn 20 years old this year. Last nights show stopper also allowed Bey into the elite club of female performers to perform solo on the NFL’s biggest stage. After last night, that list now includes only her, Madonna, and Diana Ross. It’s not a bad club to be in, and also a great way to start off what looks to be a great year for everything Beyonce. (She also talks a lot about family life as a mom, check it out)

Now that this pesky little detail called the Superbowl is out of the way, she has her most recent Pepsi contract to see through, an HBO documentary to premiere on February 16th, and a world tour to embark on. Immediately after the show, it was announced Beyonce’s tour will kick off in Serbia and feature key dates in London, Paris, Berlin, and Stockholm. That international tour will then promptly be followed by a tour of the United States that is scheduled to fittingly ending at Brooklyn’s Barclay’s Center, the arena partly owned by her husband Jay-Z.
While doing all of this we hope she continues to find time to reinvigorate the career of her fan adored girl group Destiny’s Child. The trio just released their latest compilation album, Love Songs, complete with a single produced by Pharrell Williams called “Nuclear”. If last night was any indication, all three girls are still full of energy and don’t appear to be missing a beat. Fellow DC group member Kelly Rowland is even continuing to show Bey and the rest of the world that she’s “Representin'” on recent sexy solo stand outs like “Ice” featuring Lil Wayne, and the newly released, “Kisses Down Low”. If that kind of sexiness came from all three girls at once in the grown and sexy way that they’ve matured into individually, we’re betting they would be unstoppable.
That is of course if she can find the time. We feel lazy just writing out her schedule for this article. After all, after last night, we feel compelled to quote her husband, and say all hail “King Bey”.
