Making The Band girl group, Danity Kane has been in the news a lot these days since announcing their reunion last year. Along with the reunion, comes a new album, and their current, #No Filter tour. That tour, which kicked off on May 16th came with one more big surprise. While on stage with the girls in San Francisco’s Filmore Auditorium, group member Aundrea Fimbres made a life-changing announcement. She revealed that she was engaged! When making the announcement she explained to the cheering crowd that while one of her dreams was to sing professionally, another was to be a mom and have a family.
After that she introduced the crowd to her new Stepdaughter as they cheered, the news continued with the final big reveal. “I’ve gotten to do some amazing things with Danity Kane,” Fimbres said, “but it’s time for me to start the next chapter in my life. So I thank you guys from the bottom of my heart…I love you so much. And I just wanted you guys to know from me.” So with that said it is now safe to say that the rumors of her pending departure were true. These rumors of her departure started when the group released the cover art for DK’s brand new single. “Lemonade.” On that cover art Aundrea was noticeably absent, which sparked many conversations amongst fans.
Aundrea Fimbres Announces Her Departure From Danity Kane
Anyone who has been following this group since their days on MTV’s Making The Band knows that they have had their share of ups and downs. Various conflicts within the group eventually led to the band’s creator, Sean “Diddy” Combs to disbanding the group publicly as part of the Making The Band 4 finale after a falling out with Aubrey O’Day and D. Woods in 2008. Later when talk of a Danity Kane reunion started in May of 2013, it eventually was revealed that the group reunited independently from Diddy, but this time as a quartet, without D. Woods.
So now that the group is now a trio, what can music fans actually expect from the new and hopefully improved Danity Kane? Well here’s what we can tell you. On May 15th the trio released the reunited DK’s first official single called “Lemonade,” via Soundcloud. That song is produced by The Stereotypes, the production group who was responsible for the group’s platinum hit, “Damaged in 2008.” That song features a guest verse from Young Money rapper, Tyga, also features a very cool sample from Clipse’ 2002 hit “Grindin.” When Danity Kane was doing press at the 2013 I Heart Radio Awards, they confirmed in interviews that their new album will also feature production by the likes of James Fauntleroy, Rodney Jerkins, Timbaland, and Da Internz. Stay tuned for more details about Danity Kane’s new music coming soon, in the meantime you can check out their new single below.
