A Look Back At Our Day With The Backstreet Boys At The 2012 Mixtape Festival
Over the weekend our friend Nick Carter and his management were kind enough to invite us out to day two of the 2012 Mixtape Festival at Hershey Stadium. The two day Pop music festival featured a star studded line up of Pop music’s biggest stars past and present. Nick helped give it a very explosive finale with his Backstreet Boys band mates, and New Kids On The Block. The two groups came together once more for the final scheduled performance of the super group NKOTBSB, that first took the world by storm on tour last summer. As if that was not to get people excited, the fans had NKOTBSB to look forward to when they also enjoyed other performances on the bill from the likes of The Dan Band, The Ready Set, The Wanted, Catley Rae Jepsen, and of course the reunion of 98 Degrees. As if the concert itself was not enough to make it a memorable day, one of the best parts of the day actually took place before the concert.
Most of that day’s invite was actually centered around a very unique meet and greet set up with the Backstreet Boys called the “BSBBQ”. Just like the name of the event suggests we were part of a small of Backstreet fans who joined the guys in a special pre-show barbecue with the group. During the “BSBBQ fans were able to enjoy some hot dogs and hamburgers while mingling with the Boys. They hung out for at least what must have been around three hours before show time of the festival. They talked to as many fans as possible, and found themselves posing in many photos. On a personal note it was a real treat to have our sister in law, (Craig Clizbe and Matt Clizbe) Lindsay Clizbe join us at the festival. She was a big fan of the Backstreet Boys growing up, and it was awesome to see her enjoy spending time with them. When she was with us she got some great photos, along with different ones also snapped by Backstreet’s team at Ground Control. Big thanks go out to Lindsay Clizbe, Nick Carter, Lori Graf, everyone at Ground Control and of course the other 3 Backstreet Boys, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, and A. J. Mclean. Take a look at some of the photos from that fun day below!
