2014 GRAMMY(R) Nominees Album Debuts at No. 2, Highest-Ever Chart Entry in Collection’s Two-Decade History

SANTA MONICA, CA–(Marketwired – Jan 29, 2014) – The 2014 GRAMMY® Nominees album — jointly released by Atlantic Records and The Recording Academy®‘s GRAMMY Recordings® — has debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200/SoundScan album chart. This marks the highest-ever debut in the 20-year history of the annual GRAMMY collection. In addition, the album has hit No. 1 at iTunes and Amazon. On the international front, the album debuted today at No. 1 in Canada, while topping the iTunes charts in numerous countries around the world.

The 2014 GRAMMY® Nominees album includes many of the year’s most prominent recordings and performers, including all the nominated artists in the Record Of The Year, Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Country Album categories. The collection features the original recordings of many of the songs performed live on the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards® show, including “Get Lucky” by Daft Punk featuring Pharrell Williams, “Royals” by Lorde, and “Same Love” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Mary Lambert.

The album is made possible by a special arrangement with all of the major music distribution companies and rotates labels from year to year. The 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards were held on Sunday, Jan. 26 at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, and were broadcast live in high-definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on the CBS Television Network.
