2 Chainz’ new bundle is his first new music since The Play Don’t Care Who Makes It (released in February). The surprise unannounced 4-song EP spun off the RIAA gold-selling viral track, “Proud” featuring YG and Offset, which has over 100 million streams to date. Pitchfork’s extended-length rave review of EP was effusive in its praise: “On his reflective four-song EP, the Atlanta rapper’s hallmark frivolity and infinite swag keep it short and sweet… An artist who has fully stepped up and into his moment (again) without becoming too self-serious … The ultimate embodiment of Atlanta rap, he’s old enough to have witnessed the forging of its building blocks but maintains the youthful spirit of an ever-changing genre.” The new bundle acts as the prelude to 2 Chainz’s eagerly awaited new album Rap Or Go To The League.
