It has been a little less than a year since Zayn Malik made headlines for leaving One Direction, and now it looks like he is finally getting ready for his first official release as a solo artist. Malik announced via his social media accounts that he will be releasing his single “Pillow Talk” on January 29, 2016. This song comes as the first offering from Zayn as part of his new deal with RCA Records. That deal was officially announced last July, after Malik officially left One Direction in March of 2015. We will keep you updated on anything we learn about his new work with RCA as the details become available. As fans know, since Zayn’s 1D departure, the group moved forward as a quartet and released their fifth studio album, Made In The A.M. in November 2015. They have since gone on hiatus until further notice, but insist that they will return after a much needed break! When Malik was recently asked about a possible reunion with 1D by the Sunday Times Culture Magazine he had this to say.
“Who knows?…I don’t know,” said Malik, “If the time was right and that was the thing to do, then I would make that decision when it came around.”
Malik’s solo debut is projected to be possibly released in the spring by RCA Records. We keep you posted on the details…stay tuned!
