ICYMI: Willmer Valderrama Dishes On Demi Lovato While Promoting New Spielberg Series For Fox

In case you missed it, That 70’s show alum Willmer Valderrama caught up with his old drinking buddy Ryan Seacrest while making the press rounds for his new gig as part of Steven Spielberg’s TV follow up to the Tom Cruise scifi crime drama, Minority Report. Because of the duo’s apparent past, Ryan used the interview as an opportunity to get personal, and quickly segued the conversation into talks about Wilmer’s now public relationship with “Cool For The Summer” singer Demi Lovato, who is 13 years younger than him. Valderrama revealed to Ryan that the couple has known each other for years as friends, but kept their romance a secret so Demi could focus on managing her work and other personal issues.

“I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that it was a big transitional time for her and her career,” he admitted, “and I just felt like it was important that it should be more about her and the next chapter of her music and all the things she was doing — because she was evolving as an artist.” He added, “We’ve been best friends for five years. I think she told you a little of bit of that because I saw your guys’ interview and I wanted nothing to do with her!” This was a reference to the singer’s July interview with OAWRS in which she revealed, “So when I first met him — I’m not shy to dating older men — he was like, ‘Slow down, you’re too young!’”
