(March 17, 2017 – Los Angeles, CA) – Building on months of widespread excitement and anticipation, four-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated multiplatinum rap icon and Maybach Music Group mastermind Rick Ross unleashes his ninth full-length album and first for Epic RecordsRather You Than Me [MMG/Epic Records] today. Get it HERE. As soon as the 14-track offering became available at midnight, the record seized #1 on the Top Hip-Hop/Rap Chart and #2 on iTunes Overall.

It’s been a banner week for the artist. Last night, the multitalented icon hosted and performed at the MTV Woodie Awards broadcasted live from SXSW in Austin, TX on MTV. Throughout the proceedings, the MC kept the audience laughing and smiling with his undeniable presence, and he trended online in the process. As soon as the festivities came to a close with rousing applause and cheers, MTV exclusively world-premiered the music video for the Rather You Than Me’s latest single “Trap Trap Trap” [feat. Young Thug & Wale].

With its bulletproof bars from RossWale‘s airtight rhymes, and spacey flows courtesy of Young Thug“Trap Trap Trap” quickly racked up 1 million Spotify streams. Featured on both Spotify’s Rap Caviar and VEVO, the music video sees the three rappers flexing their signature styles and inimitable bravado in another explosive big screen-worthy narrative you have to see to believe. Watch it above.

Rather You Than Me represents the apex of the rapper’s catalog thus far. There are moments of soulful emotion on the likes of “Apple of My Eye” [feat. Raphael Saadiq] and pure rap fireworks during “Powers That Be” [feat. Nas] and “Dead Presidents” [feat. FutureJeezy, & Yo Gotti].  It holds quite a few surprises too including “Idols Become Rivals” [feat. Chris Rock] and the stunning “Maybach Music V” [feat. Dej Loaf]. See the whole tracklisting below.

Now, Rather You Than Me marks the beginning of a new era for Rick Ross and rap music.

“Untouchable” is the best way to describe Rick Ross’s decade-plus run at the top of rap. Along the way, he achieved five Billboard Top 200 #1 debuts and three #2 debuts, received four Grammy Award® nominations, graced the cover of Rolling Stone twice, and made history more than once. His debut single “Hustlin’” became the “first mastertone ever certified RIAA platinum before the associated album had been released.” He sold millions of singles and albums and cemented his status as one of rap’s biggest and brashest voices. Moreover, he founded Maybach Music Group home to Meek Mill, Wale, and more. Signing to Epic Records in 2016, his “untouchable” streak continues with Rather You Than Me.
